St Augustine's prayer to the Holy Spirit
The following prayer was written by Augustine of Hippo (A.D. 354-430), an early church father and theologian. Augustine developed the doctrine of original sin and argued that the grace of Christ is central to the practice of the Christian faith. In this respect his writings foreshadowed the Protestant Reformation's teaching on the sufficiency of Christ's death and resurrection for individual salvation.
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
Such a Gift I Carry
Such a gift I carry
Within my heart and life.
A little piece of heaven's grace.
Upon my soul and mind.
Such a gift of wisdom
Weaved through my every thought.
A little piece of heaven's truth,
A love my heart has caught.
Such a gift of hope I have
A little piece of heaven's promise
Covers the greyness of sin.
Such a Holy Spirit
Given out to me.
This is such a precious gift,
A gift that sets me free.

A Famous Prayer for Daily Guidance from God:-
Our prayers lay the track down on which God's power can come. Like a mighty locomotive, his power is irresistible, but it cannot reach us without rails.
